What Have We Been Up To?

We are currently working on our Independent Novel Study.  In this unit students have a choice of four novels (Deathwatch, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and The Hobbit).  Students work on these independently and we go over there work one-on-one to give specific feedback to them regarding their individual progress throughout the unit.  Students review and pull out specific examples of character motivation and development, setting, conflict, symbolism, suspense, foreshadowing, genre, theme, and much more.
